How Do I Optimize for the Search Engines?

As of this morning, we are no longer accepting articles on anything Casino or Gambling related and all articles have been removed in that category. This was a tough decision because of our desire to balance the needs of our authors & publishers vs. the needs of our advertisers.

In addition, we are no longer accepting articles with any variation on the “F” word due to complaints received. This only impacts a very small number of articles. We’re also working retroactive to help authors edit their articles if the F word was used or remove PSD to HTML them all together if the message can’t be delivered right without the use of the F word. This F word decision was not one that we made lightly, but we knew it was one that had to be made to ensure the long-term success of the website.

What’s really interesting is that the greater majority of usage of the F-word were not relating to the act that it describes, but in the use of the word as a descriptor of intensity or from quoting a movie or song lyrics. In any case, its time has come and passed for our site and thanks for understanding.

How can learn abot SEO?

One of my first few SEO consulting clients, starting in 2003, was a commercial lender in Seattle. I did very old school SEO for them (not knowing any better, and really learning the practice as I went along), jamming anchor text and links wherever I could. Unfortunately, this was right around the time of Google's "sandbox effect," which a Googler explained to me once as "an artifact of something else we created." For nearly 18 months, I fought against the sandbox, earning 1 rankings for nearly every term in MSN search and Yahoo! (which, at the time, had much more significant market share), but page 10+ on Google. Then, suddenly, one morning, we were 1 across the board in Google, along with a number of other sites that also "popped out." One odd element of the sandbox was that Google seemed to release sites en masse, similar to the Panda updates this year. We celebrated heavily, the company started getting customers and over the next few years.

PSD to HTML Conversion

PUTRAJAYA: The Public Service Department (PSD) will issue a show cause letter to the school principal in Johor if she had indeed uttered derogatory remarks at her students recently.

Its director-general Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Abdullah said the PSD will study the report submitted by the Education Ministry.

Abu Bakar said he received the six-inch thick report on Thursday and was still going through the papers.

“If there is a case against the principal, then the disciplinary committee will deliberate. A show cause letter will be issued to the principal and she will be given the opportunity to defend herself,” he said yesterday.

Abu Bakar said he was aware there was pressure from the public to resolve the matter quickly, adding that he would discuss with Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan on how soon the disciplinary committee could meet. PSD to HTML
“But we also have to be mindful of the upcoming Hari Raya holidays.

“So far, we have only received a report against the teacher from Johor,” he said.

On Wednesday, Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin wanted the PSD, which had received a report on the incident, to decide on the case as soon as possible.

Software and Internet developers produce computer-based goods and services for individual consumers and companies. A high tolerance for frustration is equally important. Software and Internet producers are self-starters by nature and tend to tackle problems head on. Those who can combine all these talents will find themselves well suited to the industry.

Developers told us the most exciting thing about the work is being able to produce a unique product that takes advantage of an unexploited medium. The final product each developer produces acts as a living resume, and many point with pride to the projects they are involved in. Also, because the software and Internet industries are so young, the field is wide open to those with talent. Talented developers are extremely mobile in this industry; ability sells, and many companies are willing to pay top dollar to have ability on their team.
